Henrik Blomgren is a web & print designer, vivid gamer, writer and beginner otaku among other things. He is not good at describing himself so his views on himself might sound a bit weird or might even be the way the environment views him.
Not thinking he looks good on pictures no PR image has been taken. Henrik is looking into getting one taken and it´s one of his many works in progress.
This page is about him and what he does.
Web & Print designer
Henrik is currently working as a freelance web & print designer. Areas in which he has been active in for at least one year. He has been active on the internet since he was sixteen years old as the web always fascinated him. Print is a area which he found to his liking after giving it a shot designing business cards and advertisements.
Creating readable magazines online in pdf formats also got his blood boiling and he enjoys finding ways of displaying his love for colors and the minimal design.
For examples of what he has done you need look no further than this page your currently on. It is his personal portfolio and blog.
Videogames has always been a great inspiration and hobby for Henrik. Starting out with a NES at the young age of five he now has gotten to the point where he is starting to get a bit picky about what games he plays. Having a certain love for retro games he tries to fulfill his collection of old classic games while grabbing as many Collectors Editions as he can. Since being a vivid gamer is only half the truth, Henrik is also a very tasteful collector of many things.
Starting out with only Nintendo branded consoles he grew as a gamer and started playing all consoles and brands. He just needed to find interesting games and he was satisfied. Henrik also has his personal views of much of how the industry is handling certain topics and writing down his thoughts is also a part of being a gamer today.
When he has free time or when he wants to show of a new game he´s bought he tends to stream online over at Twitch.tv under the alias Overlord_Manga. Sadly there is currently no real schedule for when he streams. Henrik is working on it though to make it easier for everyone.
When Henrik started high school he managed to finish classes faster than was supposed to be. In his free time he started writing. Stories inspired by the anime he´d seen or from the good music he´d heard. Writing stories was fun and when he got older he wanted to write reviews for a magazine.
Not being accepted to any of the magazines he sent in applications for he decided to start his own place from where he could publish articles and reviews. The place is Deculture and Henrik really enjoys that he has gotten better at writing thanks to his own creation.
Calling himself a otaku means Henrik is enjoying most of the not lesser known sub cultures of the land in the east. Anime and manga being his pick of the bunch for otakudom.
Starting with anime when he was just six years old Starzinger was one of his favorite shows. While growing up he started to enjoy the design, color mixes and characters more than the actual storyline. He still gets tear eyed when thinking back to the ending theme of Starzinger and how Cogo´s feelings for Aurora didn´t get answered.
While he is mildy knowledgeable about series he knows nothing about the voice actors or the artists behind the shows and books he enjoys. Thus he calls himself a beginner otaku.
Thanks to his interest in subcultures, his view of humanity and his strong feelings for the industry of games and how he view many people around him have called him crazy or even a madman. When enough people started calling him that he kinda of accepted it and thus here he is. The friendly neighborhood Swedish madman.
